Meet Julep and Timon!
If you have ever wondered why we love horses so much, this story is for you! Even before we met these two horses, we loved the fascinating very lovable creatures, but Julep and Timon showed us what it was really like to have a special bond with a horse. We had just finished 4th grade, which I’m sad about because Mrs. Laforest and Mrs. Villard were the best teachers ever. We had grandparents in Kentucky that we were going to visit over the summer. In Kentucky, we went to horse camp at a great place called Woodlog Covert. The very first day, a rode a random horse, but Sadie rode a horse named Timon. She immediately fell in love with the charming Leopard Appaloosa. We had fun taking time to take care of our horses, muck out the stalls, get our own tack, and of course, ride them in the arena and on trail rides. Sadie would sing to Timon, watch him sleep in his stall, and of course, love him very much. It wasn’t until the second week until I met Julep. She was a beautiful white mare who sometimes really didn’t care. The first day I rode her, she was pretty lazy, but by the second day, she had taken to me and we were in the lead of the trail ride! me and Julep bonded over the week and became best friends. Sadly, one day, while we were all in the tack room, the counselors announced that Julep might be sick. I had to ride a different horse for the last two days, but it wasn’t the last time I would see Julep. I watched her in her veterinary appointment and found out she was not sick, but had the starting of a tooth abscess in her mouth. however, she took pills and was getting better by the minute! Meanwhile, on the last day, Sadie had to say her good byes to Timon. We soon left Kentucky but left with a breyer horse that looked just like Julep. Later on, Sadie got a breyer horse that looked just like Timon, and we’ll always remember them as our favorite horses. we take care of our toy versions of them as though they were right there with us. Thanks for taking the time to read our story about the best horses in the world!
